Yeast Metabolic Engineering for Biocatalytic Synthesis

Yeast Metabolic Engineering for Biocatalytic Synthesis

Yeast metabolic engineering for biocatalytic synthesis of active substances or organic compounds.

The aim of the project is to create recombinant yeast strains producing active organic substances that can be used in the treatment of different health issues. Our activities will include the development of recombinant yeast strains for production of cannabinoids, optimizing biosynthetic processes and analysing the intermediate and final products.

Our partner Life Sciences Centre of Vilnius University will conduct in vivo experiments and evaluate the physiological and pharmacological responses to these compounds.

The project is implemented under EU measure No. 01.2.1-LVPA-K-856. Experiment. Project partner: Vilnius University. Planned project duration is 36 months. The costs of the project are partially financed by the European Regional Development Fund of the Operational Programme for EU Structural Funds Investments for 2014–2020. Project No. 01.2.1-LVPA-K-856-01-0222.
